01 / Introduction & about me

Experience, leadership
and stewardship.

From my original About page.

My career goal is to help manage natural resources.

I am Dewayne Haverstick, a professional whose background connects military service, emergency medical response, business leadership, and environmental science. My Professional Science Master’s coursework at Texas Tech University brings ecology, economics, energy, and sustainable design together with environmental project management. My expected graduation date is December 11, 2026.

I began my career as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman Third Class at Navy Hospital Camp Lejeune and with the Fleet Marine Force, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines. My responsibilities included leading junior enlisted personnel, managing medical supply logistics, and delivering emergency care. After earning my Paramedic Certification from the University of South Alabama in 2006, I spent more than a decade in emergency medical care.

For four years, I owned and operated CrossFit Misneach as a personal trainer and fitness consultant, overseeing client training, operations, and expenses. In December 2021, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geography from Sam Houston State University, with a minor and certification in GIS.

As an Environmental Technician and GIS Analyst at New Tech Global Environmental, my work includes soil sampling, field testing, remediation, GIS mapping, lab packing, and chemical consolidation. My experience includes managing a project with more than 2,000 soil samples across over 10 square miles and managing due diligence projects in multiple states.

My background also includes 40-hour HAZWOPER training, proficiency in ESRI GIS software, and an inactive Top-Secret clearance. These experiences bring field expertise, crisis response, analytical skills, and leadership to my goal of responsible natural resource management.
